Where It Started

Darwin was fifteen when he picked up his first paintbrush.

He had a newborn daughter and a wife to help support, so he found work as an apprentice, then went straight from job sites to night school afterward, working toward a high school diploma he earned the hard way, on his own time.

There wasn't a plan B built into that schedule. There was just the work, and the family waiting for him at the end of the day.

That's the whole origin of Lituma Plastering.

Lituma Plastering didn't start the traditional way, with a business plan drafted in an office somewhere, but as a teenager learning a trade because the people he loved needed him to.


Years passed, and his work expanded from painting into plastering, stucco, and eventually the full range of work handled by Lituma Plastering today. But the reason behind the work never really changed. It was always about getting home to the people who mattered, and making sure the families whose homes he worked in could say the same.

A Motto Darwin Actually Means

"We're all headed home."

He says it more like a fact than a slogan, because it's the belief the business runs on.

Everyone on a job site, client and crew alike, has somewhere they're trying to get back to at the end of the day.
